“Welcome to Shumba Experience! We are a gap year company, who can provide you with the opportunity to fulfil a lifelong dream by visiting Africa and working with the incredible wildlife. Whether you are on a gap year or taking a career break, Shumba Experience has a range of placements throughout Africa to suit your needs. Our staff are equipped to assist you plan your time in Africa, as they have both a comprehensive knowledge of all our placements and share my passion for conservation.
My passion has stemmed from a variety of experiences: being woken by the distant roar of lions on a warm Namibian morning; helping newly hatching turtles scramble for the sea on the Kenyan coast; watching the birth and first steps of a baby springbok; assisting with the relocation of a white rhino in South Africa.
The possibilities are endless and I hope to provide you with similar experiences whilst volunteering with Shumba. Volunteers play a vital part for conservation in Africa. By volunteering with us, you will not only contribute financial support to the project but also provide valuable assistance in developing the project.
