| Terms and Conditions The terms and conditions stated below will apply to your project with Shumba Experience. Please read them carefully, as you will be bound by them. 1. Volunteers applying for a project must complete an application form and accept the terms of these booking conditions. You are also required to pay a deposit of £200 for each project, which must be received by us not later than 10 days after submission of the application form. 2. It is the responsibility of each volunteer to ensure they have a valid passport with at least 6 months beyond your expected departure date and hold any applicable visas at the time of travel. 3. It is a compulsory condition for all volunteers to have valid travel insurance for their trip, with adequate cover for all project activities. For volunteers aged 70 years and over, a medical certificate will be required from your doctor at least 8 weeks prior to departure stating that you are fit enough to undertake the proposed project. 4. The balance of the cost of the project must be paid by at least 8 weeks before departure or by the due date shown on your invoice, whichever is sooner. If the balance is not paid in time we reserve the right to cancel your project and retain your deposit. 5. You may cancel your project at any time providing that the cancellation is communicated to us in writing. Since we incur administrative costs for cancelling your project, we will retain your deposit and in addition may apply cancellation charges up to the maximum shown below. The cancellation charges are calculated as a percentage of the project cost dependent upon the period before departure when written cancellation is received. In the unlikely event that we have to make any changes to your booking, then we reserve the right to do so at any time. Should we need to modify the holiday due to local prevailing conditions, then we will substitute alternative arrangements of comparable monetary value, provided it does not arise from circumstances arising from force majeure. Please note that compensation will not be payable if we are forced to cancel or in any way change your holiday due to natural disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions, war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity or other circumstances amounting to force majeure. 7. If you decide to change your travel arrangements whilst abroad then it is your responsibility for any additional costs involved and any difficulties that may arise from onward travel. No refund is possible for any unused services provided in the cost of the holiday. 8. Please note that whilst project leaders try to ensure volunteers experience all project activities listed on the Shumba Experience website and within the Shumba Experience brochure, it can not be guaranteed and is the prerogative of local operators to change any listed activities. Public holidays and religious festivals may also affect the availability of activities. 9. Shumba Experience reserves the right to make any changes that may be necessary to the particulars within this brochure at any time after publication. The prices of the projects in the brochure were accurate at the time of printing. 10. It may be necessary for Shumba Experience to send information about the volunteer to representatives in the host country. By completing the application form the volunteer hereby agrees that Shumba Experience may disclose his/her personal data, including any sensitive personal data, such as relevant medical history, to the project leaders and any other representatives in the host countries. 11. If you have a complaint during your project, please inform the project leader or local representative immediately who will endeavour to correct matters. If the complaint cannot be resolved locally, please write to us within 28 days of your return and send to Shumba Experience, 95 Ditchling Road, Brighton BN1 4ST. |
