10 Step Trip Planner

1. Look around the Shumba Experience website at all the exciting placements

2. Contact the team to ask any questions or look through the FAQ’s page

3. Choose the project and either apply online or call 0845 257 3205

4. Once accepted you will be sent your Introduction Booklet

5. To secure your place then you should send a deposit of £150

6. Next ask us to help arrange your flights and travel insurance

7. Pay balance remaining at least 8 weeks before departure

8. Review the visas page for your chosen country

9. Begin packing using our check list as a guide

10. Start dreaming of your new adventure!!


ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Vaccinations - Speak to your doctor for medical requirements at least 6 weeks
    before you depart for Africa


  • Passport - Ensure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond
    your expected departure date (i.e. The date you return to your home country)


  • Flights & Insurance - Contact us to arrange flights or travel insurance
    for your placement in either Namibia or South Africa


  • Airport Transfers - All volunteers will be met and picked up from the
    airport in Africa - look out for the Shumba Experience sign!


  • Spending Money - As a guide, we recommend £50 as a weekly spending
    budget for any extras such as soft drinks, snacks, souvenirs or sky diving!!
